Sony has an unsurpassed credibility when it comes to electronics. You probably aware that some its HDTVs are listed as the best HDTV in the market. Recently, the S-Series were launch and its Sony BRAVIA S-Series KDL-46S5100 46-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV is one of the best entry level LCD TV in the market. The 46-inch TV is great for any living room. Watching movies on the LCD TV is also great due to its immense size. Due to its large size, for those that require a TV in their small bedroom, it is recommended to get smaller size of LCD TV as a 46-inch may be too big for a bed room.

Featuring a Full HD capability, the KDL-46S5100 can utilize any HDTV signals as well as play it in its highest resolution possible. Third generation game consoles such as the Xbox 360 and the PS3 can be plugged in through the HDMI port available at the LCD TV. The Sony BRAVIA S-Series KDL-46S5100 46-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV offers three HDMI ports which are more than sufficient for most users. Connecting products supporting the BRAVIA Link technology is pain free with this TV as it supports the feature mentioned.

In addition to the HDMI port, various ports such as PC, S-Video, Component, Composite and many others are available on this unit. This allows appliances that do not support the HDMI feature to utilize some of the many ports available on the TV. A contrast ratio of 30000:1 allows the TV to produce a vibrant level of contrast and deep blacks are often attainable with this HDTV model.

Its glossy screen might produce some glare especially in a room heavily lit with sunlight. However, in a room made specifically for home theatre purposes, this S-Series HDTV proves to be some of the best HDTVs available in the market. There have been a lot of wonderful reviews given by owners of this model. They report of exceptional picture qualities produced by this unit in addition to some of the many features available with the television.

A known problem about the TV is of its HDMI connections. There are several reports of the TV unable to receive HDMI signals from its ports. However, do not fret as a quick call to Sony will solve the problem. Your HDTV might just need a software update, Sony will give you the update in a USB Thumb Drive. The thumb drive can then be plugged in to the USB port available at the back of the unit. Fast and Easy.

Your Sony BRAVIA S-Series KDL-46S5100 HDTV probably is going to be the center of attention when people visit your house, just wait their reaction when you turn it on. With Energy Star 3.0 technology, this LCD TV unit consumes less energy compare to any other competing products in the same category. At a price tag of less than $1000, it is a great yet simple television which is great for those that do not require any fancy features on their televisions.

In today’s world of Blu-Ray discs, extensive high definition TV programming, and large flat screen television sets, having a home theater is more attractive than ever. All you need is a good quality large plasma TV and a plasma wall bracket to attach it to the wall. Plasma rather than LCD for the TV, because with their rich blacks plasma TVS come closest to matching what you see on a movie theater screen. Also, in the larger sizes plasma TVS are less expensive, and you will want a set that is at least 48 inches wide.

You can get a wall bracket from the manufacturer of your TV, but these are usually more expensive than brackets you can purchase from other companies that are just as good. You should be able to find a good, tilting one that is compatible with your TV for under $70.

The most critical aspect of mounting your TV on the wall is finding the studs behind the drywall. Use an inexpensive stud finder that you can get at a store like Home Depot. Mark where you will drill your holes, and use a level to make sure the marks are exactly the same height from the floor. Do not mount the TV too high on the wall, but with a tilting bracket, you have some room for error.

Drill the holes, and then attach the plasma wall bracket to the wall by screwing in the provided screws securely. Another part of the bracket attaches to your TV. Make sure you use screws that work properly with your set. Have someone help you lift the set and attach it to the wall bracket.

Check again that the plasma wall bracket is level. You can hide the wires if you want by using cable covers or even inside the wall, behind the plasma wall brackets, but that is more complicated. Voila! Your home theater is ready!

Plasma TV stands holds a plasma TV upright on an entertainment center or some other piece of furniture.

Types

They are a necessity. These TV’s are not able to stand on their own they are very thin and usually does not have legs or any other devices to hold them upright. It is one of the best options, there are also plasma wall mounts but if mounting your TV on the wall is just not an option than plasma television stands is the only way to go. Plasma television stands come in three types; there are stationary plasma stands that are simple and the least expensive. There is a swivel plasma stand that move from side to side and there are rotating TV stands that turn three hundred and sixty degrees these are the most expensive. There are some that are made to sit on pieces of furniture and there are some that are pieces of furniture. Some have storage features and look much like conventional entertainment center. The TV is typically suspended from two arms that will hold the TV upright.

The Cost

The cost of the stands is entirely dependent on the type. The stationary type stands is the least expensive. It does not move at all and is usually quite simple. The kinds that swivel from side to side are a bit more expensive and the most expensive of them will allow the TV to swivel from side to side, move up and down and turn three hundred and sixty degrees. TV stands range in price from one hundred to close to one thousand dollars.

Where to Purchase Them

They can be purchased where electronics is sold, furniture stores, discount warehouse stores and specialty stores.

Considerations

Plasma TV stands are a definite must if your TV is not going to be hung on a wall. There are some really nice options; one of the most important considerations is to be sure the stands that are being looked at can hold the weight. Plasma TV’s are very heavy and have glass fronts, being sure they can be supported is very important. Cost should always be considered and looking at customer reviews is also a good idea.

HDTV has gained increasing popularity with a growing number of people. However very few people are aware of HDTV information and what it is all about. Every discerning consumer needs to know a few basic points about HDTV to enjoy its many benefits and features.

To start with, the most basic HDTV information is that HDTV stands for high definition TV. It is a technologically advanced medium of television broadcast that makes use of state of the art digital technology to come up with fine, clear pictures on your screen. This high definition TV is broadcast in widescreen format as well as Dolby Digital audio bringing about true to life images and impeccable, superior sound quality.

Every informed consumer has sufficient HDTV information to help them understand this innovative television broadcast medium. Since HDTV can be a costly investment for most people, it is a great idea to gather in-depth information about it and be aware of its functions. The internet is full of HDTV information and reviews of HDTV users. Reading online reviews is certainly a great way to know more about the product. Once you start reading the many reviews about HDTV you will more or less have a clear idea of what you would like to do.

For valuable HDTV information, you could read reviews written by unbiased users. Many times you will find HDTV information provided by a sales team and this will only give you a one dimensional view of the product. What you really need are well-written and objective reviews on HDTV to help you decide if it is worth investing your money in.

Most of the HDTV information available on the internet states some important features that include less of interference on the screen, movie theatre image, three dimensional sound, bright and colorful pictures, and life like images with fine detail. If it is HDTV that you want, it is not very difficult to start using it; all you will need are an HDTV antenna or Satellite TV dish and an HDTV compatible television.

There will be many factors that you will need to consider before buying HDTV for your home. For example, there are many online reviews on whether indoor HDTV antenna works better than an outdoor one. By reading and comparing information, you will be able to come to a wise decision.

Reading reviews on HDTV may not be sufficient for thorough consumer research. What most informed customers do is create a checklist of what they are looking for from a product and then read up on information available and see if all their requirements are met. You could go with the same approach when looking for appropriate HDTV information.

Although looking for HDTV information might be time consuming, it is worth the effort. At times you might make an impulsive decision and get an HDTV model that seems to fit into your budget. However, such hasty decisions always lead to disappointments and it is always better to wait and gather as much information as possible before making the final purchase.

When shopping for a big screen television, the number of choices can be overwhelming at first. The three main types of televisions you will find when shopping are plasma, LCD, and LED. In this article I will go over the differences between these three main types, as well as the pros and cons of each.

Plasma Pros and Cons

A popular choice for video gamers and sports fans, plasma televisions have several advantages over their LCD and LED cousins. One major benefit of plasma televisions is their very high refresh rates and fast response times. This virtually eliminates motion blur, making it the better choice if you will be using the television to enjoy content with significant amounts of rapid motion (such as the aforementioned video games and sporting events).

Another advantage of plasma televisions is more accurate color reproduction and fidelity; on most LCD screens the color black looks closer to dark gray.

The third and final main advantage of plasma televisions is price. At sizes of 42 inches and above, plasma televisions are generally cheaper than LCD and LED sets.

Now for the cons: plasma sets are typically heavier than comparable LCD and LED televisions, use more power, and rarely come in sizes under 42 inches.

LCD Pros and Cons

LCD televisions do have some definite drawbacks, yet they are still an attractive option for many shoppers. They come in many different sizes and price ranges, with the sets under 42 inches being affordable for many people. The lighter weight and less power usage compared to plasma televisions are also desirable selling points for some shoppers.

The cons of LCD televisions, as mentioned earlier, can be deal-breakers for the more discerning shopper. The lower color accuracy and low refresh rate can seriously hamper one’s enjoyment of many types of different media. If you are planning on using your television for predominantly fast moving media and are looking at purchasing an LCD set, make sure to buy one with a refresh rate higher than 60 Hz.

LED Pros and Cons

LED televisions are similar to LCD televisions except that they use an LED backlight instead of a fluorescent lamp. This eliminates most of the drawbacks of typical LCD televisions and allows the manufacturers to make the sets extremely slim. The major drawback is price – since it is a newer technology, LED televisions are very expensive.

The Bottom Line

When looking for the best combination of performance and value in a big screen television, plasma is the best choice. Once LED sets come down in price they will be a very viable alternative, but at this time plasma is king.
